Reopening 2020

Help us all stay safe; download the NHS Track-and-Trace app, available for all mobile phones. Poster in entrance.

We would like to welcome you back to EDIBC.

The Management Committee has been working towards safely opening the Club for the start of the Winter season.

One of the major issues has been one of ventilation. We are now installing a new system at a cost of over £10,000 which will have enough airflow to keep us all safe. It will be completed and working before theplasnned club reopening on October 12th. The system will bring filtered fresh air in whilst expelling the stale air to the outside and will automatically retain the warm air within the building during the Winter. During the Summer, the same system will work very well in keeping the air fresh at all times. Also, one of the key design features is that the system is very quiet.

When the club opens we will still need to maintain social distancing and adopt general hygiene procedures as required by the Government. If you feel you need to wear a face mask please do so. Before entering and exiting the changing rooms you must use the hand sanitiser. Please do not enter the Club if you are in quarantine, self isolating or you are unwell. Detailed instructions on playing procedures will be explained further when you arrive.

Key features of the Winter season:

  • The Club will be open from 12th October, 2020.

  • Initially it will be open FIVE days a week from 9.00am to 2.00pm each day. However if there are no bookings or if stewards are not available, the Club will closed on those occasions. When we are settled into a safe routine, the Club hours may well be extended depending on the demand.

  • The members will be able to roll-up on either of the two sessions commencing at 9.30am and 12.00pm.

  • All sessions must be pre-booked by phone or in person. Only one session can be booked each time.

  • Before 12th October, the office be open for bookings from 9.30-12.00 on 7th, 8th and 9th October.

  • A register of members entering the Club will be maintained, including spectators and carers to meet Government Track  and Trace guidelines. You are advised to download the NHS Covid-19 App to aid your own Track and Trace.

  • There will not be any leagues or competitions etc., until January at the earliest. However we will start planning these once the Club is open and we have a better idea of numbers.

  • If you wish to pay for a rink with cash, it would be extremely helpful if the correct change is used. Alternatively, the Club has installed a contactless card payment system, There are no changes to the rink fees.

  • The changing rooms may be used with social distancing and the extensive use of the sanitising machines.

  • For a trial period, tea and coffee may be available on the mornings that the Club is open.

Please complete the special membership application form; you will note that the tariff is lower than normal to reflect the reduction in playing opportunities for the remainder of 2020. However, season tickets, age allowances and social membership will not be offered. Please send the membership application form back as soon as possible. If you do not have a membership form, please email the Membership Secretary.

We hope it meets with your approval.
