There are three weeks of 24-hour roadworks planned for the Christchurch. Prepare Expect chaos and major delays! The resurfacing roadworks will take place in two phases:
• Phase 1, commencing at 6pm on Monday October 27th eastbound from Waitrose car park entrance (accessible) to the Bear at Burton turn-off (accessible). NB: this includes closure of Stony Lane from the roundabout up to the railway bridge – so NO ACCESS from Burton, Sopley, Ringwood, etc down to the Club.
The eastbound closure is planned to reopen, weather permitting, on Monday November 10th at 6am; it will also be open Monday, November 3rd (market day) from 6am to 6pm.
Westbound carriageway from Somerford Roundabout through to Fountain roundabout will remain open for westbound traffic.
• Phase 2 – commencing Monday November 10th at 6pm (*weather permitting, see above), westbound from Somerford roundabout all the way through to the turning off to Saxon Square carpark (accessible). NB: this includes closure of both turnings from the roundabout to Purewell and Stoney Lane. so still NO ACCESS from Burton, Sopley, Ringwood, etc down to the Club. The westbound closure is planned to reopen 6am Monday November 16th. Westbound carriageway from
Somerford Roundabout through to Fountain roundabout will remain open for eastbound traffic.
